Reign of rain is over; clear skies expected through weekend
From feeds.boston Inches of rain fell across the state early this week and in some areas of Western Massachusetts A3/4-inch of hail fell Wednesday, but the run of unpleasant weather is over, leaving skies clear for the weekend. Highs today and Friday will be in the low to mid-70s throughout the state. Some clouds will be in the area in the morning, but skies will clear around noon.
National Weather Service forecasters are warning that severe thunderstorms are possible this afternoon and evening in Western and Central Massachusetts. The storms could quickly become severe, producing damaging winds and 2-inch-diameter hail, as well as wind gusts of up to 70 miles per hour, the weather serviceas Storm Prediction Center in Norman, Okla., warned.
